Response to the Lone Reader

In response to my lone reader's twitterings and chirpings, I thought it would be a good time to give an update on my life. Let's see... where did I leave off... December 9th!! That is a long time away. Let's see...

Okay, well, Christmas and New Year came along. I lost the pictures I took from that on the family computer that crashed... So no visuals there.

Isaac, per usual, showed up completely out of the blue, after weeks of saying he couldn't get away from work, or some such! So that was really fun! My family from St. Catharines, Ont. came for the New Year's celebrations also, the utmost favourite holiday for Scots, as I understand it. I think my dad gets more enjoyment out of throwing Robby Burns' Day parties though. He gets dressed up in his kilt and has played the pipes in the past! I should get a picture and post it!

Then my birthday came along, and my parents threw me a surprise birthday party. The first in my lifetime! That was pretty fun, but stressful too. I don't do surprises very well, especially when they involve me having to be social, but I did my best, and I think people had an okay time, if not a great time ;) Here's a picture of that:

One's with my dad, the other's with my mom. I look like the usual bum that I am around the house. I hadn't brushed my hair or anything because I didn't know anyone was coming over...

Then, February came along, and it was Jason's birthday: Wohoo! Suzanne, Sarah and I went the weekend after to Ottawa to see him and celebrate! Here are some of those pictures. they include Winterlude sculptures and the Barra McNeils!

Good times!

Sorry this blog looks kind of messy with all the pictures...

That pretty much updates everything... School is going well... Sorry this isn't more interesting...

Toodles! Hopefully I'll feel more inspired later... Not likely... ;)

Two loaves and an MA Residence

Last night was a blast!
These are my proud creations! The first time I tried making bread completely on my own, and it was a success! It wasn't the best Seeded French Bread, but it wasn't rock hard either, and friends seemed to enjoy the two I brought to our YA event.
Cayla, Alyssa and Suzanne are seen savouring Tyler's Chicken and Chick Pea Soup and their Baked Squash and Apples. Emily served us scrumptious salad with apples, raisins and walnuts and Caili and Ilia came later with Cornbread muffins. We finished off the table with Cayla's delicious Pear Custard Bars! Yum!The company, needless to say, was equally enjoyable! Somehow Mennonites just love getting together to share our food... :9 (*licks lips at the memory*)

Well, that's all for now folks! Till next time, keep on cookin'!

Missed you, Dora!

Procrastimania

So these past few days have been ram-packed with procrastination. I can't help myself. Even now, I'm trying to finish a paper that was due two days ago. It's just not coming. Instead I'm blogging. My mom doesn't know why people read these things. I think my blog is a good example of "I have no idea. It's full of nothing!" :)

In any case, I've been thinking a lot lately about My Future and what it holds for me. Do I go to Bangladesh with SALT. Do I stay in Montréal and work in a community organisation working at inter-faith dialogue? Do I get a regular Joe Job that may pay more? Both? Do I do service in some other part of Québec or Canada? The options are never ending, and all going through my mind when I should be focusing on the Present... the paper. I should really get back to that.

Wish me luck (with everything, but particularly the paper!)

Effusion Eruption!

I had a blast last night at the Effusion concert! All a capella, all of the time. They were kickin' it so hard; it was awesome! The voices were so full and the beat-boxing so great it was almost as if they had a full band playing! Their guests, the Dartmouth Aires, were also very good. They had a whole choreography to their songs, among them "Under Pressure" by Queen, "Crazy" by Gnarls Barkley, Stevie Wonder. It was really fun to watch and listen to. It was truly the best money I had spent in a really long time! I don't have any pictures, but I'll try posting some soon if I find any.

Booyah! I'm out.

Good Morning Bloggers!

I am finally one of you! I don't know how much use you'll all get out of this as my life, as I know it, is pretty normal and not too interesting. But I'll try to spice things up a little in my narrative.

There isn't much to say in this first post, as I haven't yet gone to the concert I'm going to this evening; I just wanted to say "Howdy! I'm finally at the ranch with y'all. I hope this here Internet will get as rowdy as a bull in a cockfight, y'all! Yee haw!"
